Under the creative direction of instructor & choreographer, KayLouise, the focus of Mesmeric Dance Fusion Company
is to affect an audience using music, theme & movement.
Creating her own unusual music remixes, Kaylouise enjoys emphasizing creativity, fluidity, muscle isolation and synchronization in original choreographies she creates for herself and Mesmeric.
About KayLouise...
With a great respect for traditional middle eastern belly dance, Kaylouise applies belly dance technique to Arabic music as well as a variety of other music genres. This "fusion" allows her to take the style of a belly dancer and blend it with blues & vaudeville and more contemporary, urban songs.
Kaylouise has been dancing formally since 1975. She began "The Place for Dance," a women's wellness program, in 2004, and created the professional performance troupe "Mesmeric", in September of 2006.
Like many of the women that find themselves involved with this dance form, KayLouise celebrates that a woman's interests and life experience adds to the depth of the Mesmeric dance experience. Before devoting herself to the success & development of the increasingly popular dance program, KayLouise worked for the Toledo Art Museum and wrote theatre and art reviews for the Toledo City Paper. KayLouise is the proud Mom of two teenagers. She has traveled abroad, spending time in Africa, Edinburgh, Scotland and Glastonbury, England and is published in three continents in reputable news publications including The Daily Telegraph of London, England and The Daily Telegraph, Sydney, Australia.
